We will transition into Summer on April 14, 2018
! Unlike every other month, Summer will be encapsulate TWO AND A HALF MONTHS
with a rolling release period. This means that instead of opening up all of Summer at once, we will open up a little at a time (to keep things from getting too far ahead of any major events). We will discuss this more when Timeshift comes around, but here's a breakdown of what you need to know:
Threads in the first half of June (June 1st-18th) will close out per usual on April 14th, 2018. For threads taking place in this time period, members will have the usual one week grace period to wrap things up. Members may apply for an additional week if needed.
Threads in the second half of June (June 19th-30th), provided they take place after the June plot events, will remain open as we transition into July. Please note that students may still create threads on the Hogwarts Express.
With this in mind, we encourage you to focus on finishing up those threads taking place in the first half of June FIRST, as they will be closed in accordance with our standard timeshift thread-phase-out, and also suggest that you don't hesitate to start new threads in the second half of June as you will have plenty of time to see them through and explore homecomings and the aftermath of plot events!
Reminder: Student Updates
This is a reminder that all students need to update their claims and mini-profiles in accordance with the change in school year! Returning students technically have all summer to submit their class claims to the Class Claim forum, but graduating students should jump on this ASAP!
Even if you do NOT intend to have your student move right into a new job, you should still update their character claims with their preferred new 'occupation.' Any graduating students who do NOT update their Character/Occupational claims by the start of Summer will be moved to the Wizarding World usergroup and labelled as "Graduate" in the character claims.
REMINDER: OOC ACCOUNT GRAPHICS
This is a reminder that all active members
must have OOC accounts fitted with avatar, gif, and completed mini-profile. We will be conducting an AUDIT of all member profiles one week from today (April 7th
). If a member is found to be not in compliance, that member will have posting privileges for all characters revoked until this step has been completed. We ask that members respect that a completed OOC account is technically a requirement for member acceptance here at HFTA, and that any failure to enforce this rule has been leniency on our part. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
A minor rules update regarding face claims has been added to the Rules! A summary has been provided below:
- No face claims under 13
- Face claims must be public figures. No instagram/deviant art models
- No porn stars
This is not intended to target or reflect upon any member. It's an update we believe will help us as we affiliate with other sites, and one founded with the intent to demonstrate respect for the models that give our characters the faces that we love. We also strive to show that same respect to our member base. HFTA is intended to be a happy and healthy home for members of all kinds.
As a group of administrators, we take member comfort and well-being very seriously. We are always here to help with any questions or concerns anyone might have in the interest of keeping this a safe and friendly space where we can all focus on that writing thing we seem to enjoy so much.
