To Whom it May Concern
My name is Peter Clearwater, and I am sure from my surname you will get some kind of idea as to what this letter is about. I am not writing to express my opinions on my brother’s guilt or misdeeds; I know I have little sway over that. I am merely writing to ask for visitation.
My brother has not physically harmed anyone in this ordeal, nor has he expressed any particularly violent tendencies, I’m sure. But I know I don’t need to attest to you the nature of Azkaban and while I’ve not been there myself, I can only imagine how it must feel. He has nobody else, no family of his own apart from me and our parents.
All I would like is to visit him. Feel free to check anything and everything about my background - I’m a healer at St Mungo’s if that helps - I’ll meet with whomever you wish and submit my wand for checking as many times as it takes. I just want to see him, and
I have written my address in London on the back of this letter; a response at your earliest convenience would be much appreciated.
Peter M. Clearwater.

A memo attached to the original letter as it is passed to Jim's desk:
Please find, enclosed, a letter which requests visitation with one of Azkaban's current inmates. The author of the letter is known to me from my weekend volunteer work at St. Mungo's, and although I confess I do not know him especially well, I can think of very few people who are less likely to become a security issue. If you have further questions please feel free to contact me.

First of all, allow me to express my condolences. No matter my opinion of the matter, incarceration of a family member is never an easy thing to go through.
After a background check produced no incriminating records, the auror office has decided to allow you to visit your brother in Azkaban. Due to the precarious nature of Azkaban, I will serve as your escort throughout the visit to make sure you remain safe.
I ask you to write back to tell me when you would like this visit to occur. This way, I can ensure there are no scheduling conflicts.
As far as time goes, it is unlikely that your visit will last much longer than an hour, due to the substantial dementor presence. I am sorry I can't give you more time with your brother. Thank you for understanding
All the best,

Thank you for your time, and your kind words. And thank you, moreover, for the opportunity to visit my brother. While I do not disagree that it is hard to see a family member imprisoned, I'm sure it's nothing compared to what he's going through.
I have no problem with an escort; I appreciate the necessity of it. An hour is perfectly fine, too. Will I be allowed to bring things for him? Books, at least? I'm not particularly knowledgeable of what's allowed in Azkaban.
As for the day, does Friday July 15th suit you? I am somewhat flexible, but I know that day works for me. In the late morning perhaps?
Many thanks again for your response and understanding.
Peter M. Clearwater
